2007 Year in Review

We are at the end at yet another incredible year!

Our biggest milestone yet is… Anita is pregnant with our first child! The new addition is due June 3rd, 2008. We are busy getting ready and renovating the baby room.

Anita completed her first year of a post-graduate family-therapy training program at the Ackerman Institute, and is still working as a child therapist with Brooklyn Psychiatric, based at PS 32 in Carroll Gardens.

Mischa’s business, Tilt Interactive is up and running. Here are some of the noteworthy developments:
- I officially committed to freelance consulting in January
- First client engagement – Associated Content
- First repeat/ongoing client – About.com (NYTimes Co.)
- Developing a new business venture intended to help our interactive media clients run more efficiently

Our dog Lionel continued to mature during his second year and is a constant loving part of our lives


Family Milestones:

Two of our siblings are now permanent New York City residents-
- Anita’s sister Melanie is an artist and lives in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn
- David, our stepbrother lives in Murray Hill, Manhattan and is working as a 1st year financial analyst

Our stepsister Martha and her husband Cade gave birth to their second boy – Chase Strieby

Our mothers turned 60! To celebrate...

- Mischa's step-mother Susan’s Bday, we traveled to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico for a family getaway hosted by Dad/Susan with the entire Buttrick, Strieby and Anderson clan

- Anita’s mother Marjorie’s big one, we spent a couple of days together with Melanie in Brooklyn and then road-tripped to historic Hyde Park, NY for an overnight getaway


Other Cool Stuff:

- We enjoyed the Colorado Rockies magical run from a baseball playoffs afterthought all the way to the World Series in Oct

- I became a volunteer gardener at Brooklyn Botanic Gardens

- Our Swiss cousins Marlene and Christophe came to visit in Oct


And lastly, we did a fair amount of our favorite activity this year…Getting Out of Dodge:

Wedding Trips:
- San Francisco/Carmel, CA for Steve and Karen’s in May
- Akumal, Mexico for Dylan and Jesse’s in Sept

Family Inspired Rendezvous:
- LA in Jan to see my grandmother “Nana” and friend Max
- Dave’s Penn graduation in May
- Lynn Run State Park in Western PA over July 4th Weekend to visit
Anita’s brother Jonnie and mom Marjorie
- Denver in Sept to see Dad/Susan and the Striebys
- My sister and family (Buttricks) in Boston for Thanksgiving
- Indiana, PA for X-Mas with the Mambos

Summer Getaways:
- Camping at Little Pond, Catskills NY (twice)
- Buttricks in Beverly (Boston) MA
- Mills Norie State Park rustic cabins, Hyde Park NY
- Lake Saranac rustic cabins, Adirondacks NY
